ME News Report, April 11 (UTC+8), the US and Iranian delegations held negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan, but both sides face red line challenges on three core issues, making the prospects uncertain. On the Strait of Hormuz issue, the US demands full open access, while Iran insists it must coordinate with its armed forces and has begun charging tolls for oil tanker transit. If the US accepts Iran’s control, it is considered a strategic failure. Regarding enriched uranium, the US demands complete abandonment and may resort to force, while Iran insists on retaining some enrichment capacity. Experts say removing underground facilities is highly difficult. Concerning Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran hopes to include it in the ceasefire agreement, but after the agreement was announced, Israel launched airstrikes against Lebanon. The ceasefire is said not to cover Lebanon, and differing interests threaten the stability of the agreement. A former White House envoy stated that the ceasefire foundation is fragile, and both sides have made no substantial concessions. (Source: MLion)
