Australia signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Anthropic in accordance with the national AI plan

Australia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Anthropic in accordance with the National AI Strategy. This is the first arrangement under the country’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) plan, aimed at strengthening capacity building and ensuring responsible innovation and development. This arrangement will encourage the responsible development of AI, attract investment, and enhance safety. The agreement is a high-level arrangement and is not legally binding, setting expectations aligned with Australia’s national interests.
