Equinor and its partners have announced an oil and gas discovery near the Gullfaks field in the North Sea, with preliminary estimates placing the Granat discovery at 1.3-3.8 million oil-equivalent barrels. The licensees are considering tying the discovery back to existing Gullfaks infrastructure. The discovery was made in the first exploration well of production license 277, while another well in production license 152 turned up dry.
