Iran's Attacks Have Not Met Threshold to Restart Large-Scale Military Operations, Says U.S. Military Chair on May 5

According to U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Kane, on May 5, Iran’s attacks have not yet reached the threshold to restart large-scale military operations. Since the ceasefire announcement, Iran has fired on commercial vessels 9 times and seized 2 container ships, Kane said. Currently, 25,000 sailors are stranded in the Gulf. U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth urged Iran to exercise caution, noting the ceasefire remains ongoing.
