According to CNA, Singapore’s Parliament on May 6 unanimously passed a motion calling for inclusive growth during the AI transition after more than seven hours of debate involving 24 MPs, including seven from the Workers’ Party. The motion, moved by labor chief Ng Chee Meng and three other members, emphasized that while AI adoption is necessary for competitiveness, its benefits should not bypass workers. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng stated the government prioritizes training, targeted AI tool access, and support for groups that may be left behind.
