Oasis Market Launches AI Self-Checkout 'Route Mini' at Sangwangsimni Station Store

Gate News message, April 15 — South Korean retail tech company Oasis Market today launched its AI-powered self-checkout system ‘Route Mini’ at its Sangwangsimni Station store, marking the commercial debut of the compact model designed for small and medium-sized retail locations. The company, which co-developed the Route series with parent firm GearSoft, has positioned itself as a commerce tech innovator through AI-driven store automation.

Route Mini delivers checkout speeds more than twice as fast as conventional systems by combining multi-angle cameras and advanced sensors with Vision AI technology. The device supports a hybrid payment environment integrating barcode and QR code recognition alongside visual AI, enhancing versatility across payment methods. Hardware size has been reduced by 50% compared to the earlier Route 100 model, enabling deployment in space-constrained convenience stores and independent supermarkets.

Oasis Market’s Gangnam store, already operating Route-series systems, has demonstrated customer satisfaction with queue-free shopping experiences. Following today’s Sangwangsimni launch, the company plans to roll out Route Mini across major directly operated stores nationwide. A company representative indicated potential expansion into B2B markets through an AIaaS (AI-as-a-Service) model offering integrated AI updates and maintenance services to external retailers.
