Laut dem Jahresbericht 2025 der Hong Kong Monetary Authority hat die HKMA die Tokenisierung von Real-World-Assets als einen zentralen Schwerpunkt für 2026 im Rahmen ihrer Initiative „FinTech 2030“ herausgestellt. Die Behörde plant, die Tokenisierung von Finanz- und Nicht-Finanz-Assets voranzutreiben und Abwicklungen über den digitalen Hongkong-Dollar, tokenisierte Einlagen sowie regulierte Stablecoins auf Blockchain-Netzwerken zu ermöglichen, um schnellere Finanztransaktionen zu erleichtern. Die HKMA wird außerdem weiterhin an internationalen Diskussionen zu Richtlinien für digitale Assets teilnehmen, insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Auswirkungen von Stablecoins auf die geld- und finanzielle Stabilität.
