曾經精準預言 2008 年金融海嘯、電影《大賣空》（The Big Short）本尊 —— 貝瑞（Michael Burry）警告，比特幣近期的跳水式下跌，正在金融市場引發劇烈的連鎖效應，甚至連黃金、白銀也難逃一劫，淪為機構投資人的「提款機」。
Michael Burry 周一在 Substack 發文指出，隨著加密貨幣市場重挫，許多機構投資人、企業財務主管為了填補虧損或應對流動性需求，可能被迫拋售手中其他的獲利資產，進而引發連鎖式的去槓桿效應。他寫道：
由於加密貨幣價格下跌，似乎有高達 10 億美元的貴金屬在月底被拋售。
Michael Burry 認為，今年 1 月底黃金、白銀同步走跌，主要由投機客、企業財務主管集體拋售造成。當比特幣部位虧損擴大，他們急於拋售手中仍有獲利的代幣化黃金、白銀期貨以降低風險，而這種「賣強補弱」的操作，直接拖累了貴金屬的表現。
比特幣今（4）日凌晨一度跌破 7.3 萬美元，較近期高點回檔 40% 。 Michael Burry 表示，這波修正暴露了加密貨幣基礎的脆弱性，並對持有大量比特幣的公司構成威脅，例如 Strategy（MSTR）。
Michael Burry 對比特幣後市的看法極度悲觀。他說：
從基本使用需求來看，我看不到任何理由，能讓比特幣跌勢放緩甚至止跌。
他警告稱，若比特幣價格進一步跌至 5 萬美元關卡，不僅礦業公司恐面臨大規模破產風險，就連代幣化貴金屬期貨市場，也可能會徹底崩盤，淪為「沒有買家接盤的黑洞」。
對於比特幣作為「數位避險資產」、「黃金替代品」的敘事，Michael Burry 更是嗤之以鼻。他認為，「企業儲備資產並非永久的護身符」，市場普遍寄望於企業與機構進場、將比特幣納入資產負債表，能為價格提供長期支撐，這種想法本身就站不住腳。
