Zcash Launches Security Roadmap Post-Quantum, Aiming to Complete by 2027

Zcash officially announced a new security roadmap targeting full resistance to quantum computing threats within the next 12 to 18 months. One of the developers of Zcash Open Development Lab, Josh Swihart, stated that the launch of a quantum-recoverable wallet will begin in one month as an initial step to anticipate the "Q-Day" risk. In addition to cryptographic strengthening, this network aims for throughput comparable to Mastercard and Visa to modernize private payment systems.
​This modernization coincides with the highest record of privacy feature adoption, where the Zcash shielded pool now holds 30% of the total circulating ZEC supply. Zcash developers have prepared major protocol changes over the next two years to ensure long-term resilience against cryptographic key hacking. This move reinforces Zcash's position ahead of other major crypto assets in post-quantum security.
​Market sentiment also strengthened with a 73% increase in ZEC price over the past month, driven by the disclosure of significant investment positions from Multicoin Capital. This institutional investor is seen as support for the cypherpunk ideals within the crypto ecosystem. Additionally, cross-chain integration has triggered fund flows up to $700 million into the Zcash ecosystem, with the dominant volume coming from stablecoins like USDC.
