BlockBeats News. April 29. According to a report by the UK’s Financial Times, Christopher Harborne, a cryptocurrency billionaire and shareholder of stablecoin issuer Tether, provided about 5 million pounds in funding to UK Member of Parliament Nigel Farage before the 2024 UK general election. After that, Farage decided to resume the leadership of the UK’s right-wing political party, the Reform Party.

The report says Harborne has long been active in the cryptocurrency industry and the field of conservative political donations, and he previously also had links with UK Brexit-related political movements. This large donation has once again raised concerns about the influence of crypto capital on British politics.
