Let 100 people choose between two options, and about 90 people will choose to go to the commercial KTV to hug the little sister singing and sing along, only 10 people choose to go to the library to read Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom."

Let 100 people choose between two options again, and approximately 99 will choose to go to the glamorous coastal big city to make money and enjoy life, only 1 person chooses to go to the harsh northwest desert to plant trees and reforest.
If we judge civilization based on the flow of people, then going to the commercial KTV to "sing flowers" is civilization, and reading Hayek's works in the library is uncivilized; going to the glamorous city to make big money and enjoy life is civilization, while planting trees and improving ecology in harsh areas is uncivilized.
Therefore, the direction of human flow is always the direction of satisfying desires, the direction of realizing interests, and not necessarily the direction of civilization.
