One of the crypto whales succeeded in turning a modest investment of $620 into a fortune estimated at about $4.2 million, after holding onto the Ethereum it bought nearly a decade ago.

The story goes back to a wallet named "0x158," where its owner bought about 2,000 Ethereum during the network’s pre-sale phase 10 years ago, at a price of approximately $0.31 per coin, with a total investment that did not exceed $620.

Since then, the coins have remained largely inactive for a full decade, before data showed the wallet moving recently, at a time when the value of its holdings was about $4.2 million.

Thus, the investor achieved an exceptional return that exceeded 6,800 times their original investment, in one of the most prominent long-term investment stories in the cryptocurrency market.

The deal sparked interest within the crypto community, as many view it as an example of the power of long-term investment and patience, especially in digital assets that have seen tremendous growth since their launch.
