Beijing allocates 300k housing units to assist with affordable rental housing during the return-to-work season
To meet the diverse rental housing needs of people who come to Beijing for work and those who return to Beijing for employment, and to effectively respond to the peak rental season during the return-to-work period, Beijing’s annual “Return-to-Work Season Benefit-Driven Rental Housing Service Campaign” was fully launched in mid-March.
Since the beginning of this year, Beijing has raised a total of 300,000 sets of housing units, including 55 affordable rental housing projects, helping new graduates, urban youth, and city operations and service support personnel find a place to live.
As of now, 53 housing-rental intermediary companies and affordable rental housing operators have participated. Based on the actual conditions of each district, they have carried out distinctive activities in areas where the employed population and rental demand are concentrated, such as “entering industrial parks, entering enterprises, entering street and township communities, and hosting job fairs at recruitment venues.” They provide a variety of tailored, people-friendly services—such as discounts on rent and deposits, as well as moving assistance and cleaning—so as to effectively reduce rental costs and enhance the living experience.
