Abstract generation in progress

Crypto World News reports, according to Bloomberg, that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell this week urgently convened several CEOs of systemically important banks in Washington for a closed-door meeting regarding the potential cybersecurity risks posed by Anthropic’s next-generation AI model Mythos. The report says regulators are concerned that the model could, under user instructions, automatically identify and exploit vulnerabilities in mainstream operating systems and browsers, or be used by hackers to launch new types of cyberattacks. Anthropic has restricted Mythos to only a small number of major technology and financial institutions as part of “Project Glasswing,” and the participating parties include Amazon, Apple, and JPMorgan, with the aim of strengthening critical financial and technology infrastructure before more similar models are rolled out.
