Google has secured clean energy deals with AES Corp and Xcel Energy to power its expanding data centers in the U.S. Google signed a 20-year agreement with AES for a new data center in Wilbarger County, Texas, and Xcel Energy will supply 1,900 MW of clean energy to Google’s new data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, with Google investing $50 million in Xcel’s battery storage network. These agreements aim to meet the surging power demand from AI applications without increasing costs for existing utility customers.
